The 49-19 New England Patriots triumph over the New York Jets on Thanksgiving Day gave Bill Belichick his 200th career win. Belichick is only the eighth coach in the National Football League’s (NFL) 92-year history to achieve this benchmark.
In this game, which is the Patriots last match of the season with the Jets, they scored 35 second-quarter points.  They scored 21 of those points in 52 seconds. Those five touchdowns, Jet’s head coach Rex Ryan said, were something “almost impossible to do.” He described, prior to the game, Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady as “a once-in-a-generation type quarterback.” In October he said, “I don’t think I’m the best head coach in the league, I think he [Belichick] is.” So, for whatever the reasons might be, this time around it was a different story: Ryan and Belichick actually did say nice things about each other.

Republicans gauge America’s wellbeing on material success as measured by gross domestic product (GDP). They believe that a nation’s rich people create jobs (even though it’s a nation of consumers that are the real job creators). They believe rich people, through their purchases of big-ticket items, are the only ones who significantly contribute to GDP.
That’s the republican reasoning for resisting President Obama’s call to increase taxes on the rich.

President Obama views it differently. He believes there is a moral element to material success.

One of Obama’s favorite quotes is Robert F. Kennedy’s (RFK) quote about GDP. The quote is from RFK’s speech delivered at the University of Kansas on March 18, 1968. President Obama said it’s “one of the most beautiful of [Kennedy’s] speeches.” In that speech he spoke passionately on how poorly America measures success.
